TThe most challenging part of vanlife is not having a lot of storage space. You have to be smart about the items you carry with you- and they have to last the distance. These vanlife must haves will make your vanlife experience more comfortable, affordable and will take the pressure off your mobile home so you will worry less.
Here are five must have items for vanlife for women.
Warm, Temperature Responsive Sleeping Bag
If you are planning on doing vanlife in the winter, a subzero sleeping bag is essential. The Fit Nation Viking Trek 350x features premium quality 350g filling and a drawstring hood that will keep you warm throughout the night. It includes a 100% waterproof compression carry bag and is constructed from breathable fabric that wicks moisture away from your body and out through the breathable outer shell.
Portable Jump Starter
Anyone who has tried vanlife will know it can be tough on your battery. A Portable Jump Starter is a necessity because you can’t always rely on someone else to give you a jump start if you are in the middle of nowhere! This 12v auto battery booster (up to 8L gas/petrol or 6L diesel)
is great because you can also use it to charge your mobile phone, laptop and any other electronics you have, up to 3 times faster than a general power bank. A big bonus feature of this model is the built in torch which can be used as an LED flashlight, strobe and SOS.
Propane Gas Stove
A Propane stove is by far the easiest way to cook your meals. The Campingaz Portable Two Burner Gas cooker with Windshield is super easy to use and takes less than a minute to get up and running. Gas canisters can be purchased inexpensively and last for at least a week or two. Cheapest power bill ever!
Solar Shower
The least glamorous part of vanlife: finding somewhere to shower. Unless you have a good gym membership, a solar shower is the easier, more affordable option. This solar shower holds up to 5 gallons of water, has an on/off valve connected to the shower head, features a strong handle for hanging and carrying and uses solar energy to heat up water.
Battery Powered Lights
Whether you’re a fan of delicate twinkles or a more functional industrial style, battery powered lights are invaluable for Vanlife on dark nights or any time you need a burst of light when you don’t have a power supply nearby. These fairy lights have 100 warm white lights on a 10 metre cord and are fully waterproof making them also suitable for outdoor use.

Personally I could not live without my kindle books.
Hi !
Well, I have two out of five. I’ve been on the road for nine months… I have a built-in propane stove that is fed by a one gallon re-fillable tank. Which is super easy on gas, and costs me less than $2/month! And I have battery operated fairy lights but only because they were a gift. I do love them 🙂
I use a down comforter and sheets like I would at home. And a mattress pad heater (12 volt) that I couldn’t live without for my below freezing nights out on the road! I take showers wherever I can (truck stops, laundromats etc) and enjoy a sponge bath each day, so I don’t feel I need a solar shower… and I don’t have a portable jumper, but I do have roadside assistance.
thanks for the article 🙂
